About Us
At Sappho Aesthetic Medicine, care is centered on confidence, artistry, and individualized treatment. Founded and led by A. F. Hemphill, MD, the practice is dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable, empowered, and naturally refreshed in their own skin.
Dr. Hemphill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Brown University in 1999, establishing a strong academic foundation in the life sciences. He went on to attend Meharry Medical College, where he graduated with honors and developed a deep commitment to patient-centered care.
His surgical training is extensive and highly specialized. Dr. Hemphill completed his General Surgery residency at Union Memorial Hospital, serving as Chief Resident while refining his expertise in operative precision and patient safety. He later completed a rigorous residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Summa Health, again serving as Chief Resident. His background spans aesthetic enhancement, complex wound care, and reconstructive procedures, giving him a uniquely balanced approach that combines medical excellence with artistic refinement
Dr. Hemphill also holds the Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP) credential, recognizing advanced expertise in wound care and clinical diagnostics.
Today, Dr. Hemphill leads a modern aesthetic practice focused on integrity, innovation, and authentic results.
